Well, not for pagans it isn't- they tend to follow the old rituals and real meaning of it- it's just turned into a party evening for others- I don't object to that, it's all the plastic rubbish (eg vampire masks, masks, fang teeth etc) in dumped in landfills afterwards I don't like.

I understand kind of where you're coming from, Raphael. That's how I feel about Christmas. But, while the commercial trappings of Christmas kind of overwhelm my senses--and I prefer the religious side of the holiday (I am a Christian who is, in fact, beginning discernment into the Episcopal priesthood--so I'm fairly biased in my love of church! LOL) I don't begrudge people an opportunity to get together for food, fun, and a chance to party. If people are able to embrace the aspect of love that comes with the holiday, I am all for that. I guess I'm just not "all for" the blatant commercialism that tries to capitalize on that sentiment.

Yeah, I agree with that. I love parties and all sorts of holidays, but they should retain their respect and beauty and dignity and such.

I feel the same about Christmas too.Commercialism has gone too far.
