The big issue.

If I keep my eyes fixed firmly
to the floor, I may not
notice the magazine
for the homeless, held up
more in hope than expectation.

The man on the bridge was
unaware of the chaos
he had caused,
as the grid locked city
grinds to a halt.
The reassuring murmurs
from the police
negotiators were lost
to the driving rain,

and the grey suited shoal
of businessmen who just
long to be home,
were unaware of the chaos,
in the mind of the man
on the bridge.
