Ophelia (girl with an i-pod)

If I had the talent of John Millais,
I should like to capture you on canvas,
make true an old fool's reverie, recline
in the bath and be my Ophelia.

You do not notice me; your slender fingers
drumming a rhythm on your glass of wine,
mouthing words to a song I cannot hear;
you in your world, and I, on the edge of mine.
That I might drink, and leave the world unseen.

Wonderful marwood, captures well those little moments of brief infatuation on the bus, in a crowded room or passing in the street, those windows of emotion that blow away the troubles and petty annoyances of the day.

Wow. This is a splendid piece of verse.
