Spectral Star
G Collins, 2/10/2010

Why are you following me, spectral sputtering star?

Hidden now by lines of thick branched trees
passing us-me-you by

Did you leave? Close your eyes?
Did you lose your way? I cannot stop this westward train.

You are on my mind, colourful star.

Yes, I am very fond of the constellations and celestial happenings of space. I have countless poems I've written over the years that have to do with the subject. One of my professors mentioned that poets write about things they do not understand or things they may fear --I hold true to that. I'll have to scrounge through my collection to post a poem that is not about space, haha.

Although I love Bright Star (as do many others), "To Autumn" ranks into my favourites. I'd need to reread more of his poems to discover which three delight me most. :]
