'The weight of the eternity gone'

The weight of the eternity gone,
I lie in a numb tranced wonder
Of drowning thoughts
And happy senseless mem'ry
And revel in the drowsy present
That was never meant to be
And marvel at the lovely things
That I was never meant to see

In shallow consciousness it seems that
Only a moment forsakes what I have dreamt
And I will soon be gone
A mem'ry in his ever-graying eyes
That just like mine seem to see the dark,
Forever slumb'rous velvet case apart
To comfort shaking, sighing souls
And quiet sobs that choke them when alone

The times I can see in our every move
Send waves of dull nostalgia through my veins
And pass through mine eyes
In soft and swirled clouds of gray
That hide the stars and ever shining moon
To swear I will nevermore hear them sing
Their soft message unto the night
Of love and care and ever present life

That is truly brilliant Child of Woz- it has your voice but gives nod to our dear Mr Keats. I think he would like your poem very much. I'm sitting here in deep melancholy and your poem explains some things to me. Thank you for posting it.

Wow, Raphael, thank you very much. That means so much to me that you think that Mr. Keats would enjoy my poetry! I adore hearing your take on my poems and I thank you for your compliments.
