Do I need to feel the violins swell,
The saccharine stab between ears
To know that it's over and tears
Should have careered down cheeks
Riven dry now by your cruel jibes.
I know it's over by listening to
The piercing silences you leave,
The messages scrawled invisible
On my too weak scarred heart.

You have a talent for cowardice,
A slinking away skill at leaving
Before you even know yourself
To be gone, an assassin's ease
With blowing targets from afar
Learned no doubt from a life
Of big-game stalking, copsed
In the distance poking sleek
Guns at the vulnerable; able
To strike and leave no mark.
"Oh what a misery it is to have an intellect in splints".
