Broken embraces

Broken embraces

Are we stuck with
These stolen and
Broken embraces
And winter morns
Full of the regrets
Of drunken fools?

Aren't transitions
Supposed to fade
To nothingness?
We coil and we
Uncouple again,
And we separate.

Magnetism isn't
A surefire thing.
Pulling apart to
Collide once more
Is harder than to
Break to pieces.

Wow - what a different piece this is - so true Saturn - at least in some experiences of mine. Love your two questions and the insight at the end. Amazes me how you pack so much into so few words. I love the balance of "Broken embraces" to "Break to pieces" at the end. Nicely done.

Thanks a lot Broken Lyre, you're too kind.

I think it's similar to the few poems I've written in the last year or two.

Economy is the ideal, it has taken years to learn how to be more economical, be more precise with words; all the very greatest poets pack more precision and meaning into short phrases or small, compact verses.
