i plunge dive up and down this place—
it’s difficult to land in hollow symmetry

if I could master that thrust and drag,
sequester that color of sky
just after dark and day,
freight the beating center of human divinity
on cold clear wind shear

not have to whiffle too far
to shake off the burden of the soar
for a guiltless while

fly unruffled
chariot by on faultless vanes
leaving conscience scattered in my wake
all over the glass floor

but it’s here i stay
settling on air from pinprick holes—
on display

missing while watching
gorgeous things
fiercely fastening, repairing in a mindless mind
sparse tattered barbless wings
"I am certain of nothing but the holiness of the heart's affections and the Truth of Imagination."
